Minutes Of a meeting of the Executive held on
Friday 13th September 2013 at 10.30am at Rhyl Town Council Offices
Present were
Cllr D Hainge Chair, Cllr B Bertola, Cllr T Renshaw, Cllr A Holloway Cllr J McLennon
and Robert Robinson (Secretary)
1. Apologies for absence
There were apologies for absence received from Cllr M Roberts (Vice Chair).
2. Minutes of the last meeting of the Executive
The notes of the last meeting were accepted as a correct record.
3. Agenda for next quarterly meeting
The meeting agreed the agenda for the next quarterly and the annual meeting. See copy on file.
4. Financial Matters
4.1.1 Report
The Secretary gave a short financial report and issued the schedule of figures up to 31st July 2013..
4.2 Audit for year ending 31st March 2013
The Audit has now been completed. All is in order. There are some requests for next years accounts which will be taken on board by the Secretary.
5. One Voice Wales
The meeting was updates on the One Voice Wales situation.
The Secretary is to write to Joyce Watson with a copy to Janet Finch-Saunders seeking advice on what to do next.
6. Conference Details – July 2014
The Committee discussed the conference outline and the agreed a format as follows:
The next quarterly meeting is to consider the location of Connah’s Quay.
There should be a programme from 10am to 1pm with lunch to follow.
Two speakers or one speaker and a debate on a policy.
7. Health Review
The meeting considered the consultation coming forward.
It was agreed that a special meeting maybe needed to meet the Health Minister and that the item of the current consultation on Care be discussed at the next meeting.
8. Railway Matters
8.1 North Wales Line
The secretary updated the meeting on the line and that electrification is probably 5-10 years off at least.
In due course a meeting with Dave Thomas of the WAG is to be sought to try and make a case for an earlier date.
8.2 Mid Wales Line
The Secretary updated the meeting on the hourly service on the Cambrian Lines and the survey to take place with a recommendation following regarding an enhanced service.
It is hoped that some improvement to the service will take place during 2014.
9. Venue Cymru Llandudno
The January meeting is to be held in Llandudno. The menu was discussed but no conclusion reached.
The quarterly meeting is to confirm a menu choice.
10. Election of President and Vice President
The method to be used at the next Meeting is to take nominations from the floor followed by a secret ballot.
A gavel has been arranged for the past President and a framed certificate for the past Vice President.
11. Date of next meeting
To be Friday 13th December 2013 at 10.30am at the offices of Rhyl Town Council.
