MEMBERSHIP POLICY
INTRODUCTION
The Association is an active forum for Town and Larger Community Councils to discuss common issues, take action on matters of concern and to respond to consultations directly to the Welsh Assembly Government and Principle Councils.
AREA OF THE ASSOCIATION
Membership of the Association is open to any Town or Community Council that meets the criteria and which is located in the Mid and North Wales areas.
For clarity that is any Council north of a line from Aberystwyth through Newtown and Welshpool to the borders.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Councils with a population of under 5,000 people – currently £90pa
Councils with a population of under 10,000 people – currently £65pa
Councils with a population of over 10,000 people – currenlty £50pa
Annual fees are agreed at the AGM in July.
CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the Association is open to any Town or Community Council who meets the following criteria:
1. Has an electorate of a minimum of 1,000.
2. Is located in the area of the Association.
North and Mid Wales from the North Coast down to the southern boundaries of Montgomeryshire and Ceredigion
3. Is prepared to abide by the constitution of the and Standing Orders
of the Association.
4. Is prepared to pay the annual subscription
5. Be prepared to send representatives to the
quarterly meetings held around the area.
