WIND FARMS, PYLONS, HUB AND TRANSPORT
The North Wales Association of Town and Larger Community Councils represents 31 Town and Larger Community Councils in Mid and North Wales.
At their Conference in March 2012 they considered in detail the proposals for TAN8 and in particular its effects on Mid Wales and Montgomeryshire.
The Association has always had a policy of supporting Welshpool Town Council in its objection to the Wind Farms and associated developments in Mid Wales and has expressed that view before.
The Association confirms that the current announcement of a 20 acre hub at Cefn Coch and a 400kv power line through Meifod and Llansantfraid to Lower Frankton is not acceptable in any form.
Clr Joan Butterfield (Chair of the Assocation) said ‘The scale of development proposed in a rural area where its main activity, along with farming, is tourism, is not acceptable and the Association has reconfirmed that it will object at every level to these proposals.
