The draft paper on the Future of Local Councils has been prepared for consultation before it is presented to the Welsh Government as the views of the Association. Members should let the Secretary have any comments by 20th August 2014. See Documents/Consultations for details.

  Cllr Derek Hainge of Bangor City Cuuncil was elected Chair of the Association for the ensuing year taking over from Cllr M Roberts of Tywyn and Kinmel Bay Council

THE ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES ITS NORTH WALES HEALTH SURVEY TO BE LAUNCHED IN THE AUTUMN

A new white paper has been issued by the Welsh Assembly called ‘Reforming Local Government’.  This is the start point for the changes expected following the Williams Report. The full details can be found on the Welsh Assembly Web Site at www.wales.gov.uk

The Mid Wales Health Study for Montgomeryshire is now online at www.midwaleshealthstudy.org.uk The report for this area is being lead by Welshpool Town Council in consultation with the Local Council Forum and the final report will inform the Welsh Institute for Health and Social Studies when they report the Minister of the Welsh Government in September.

There is a consultation on ‘information’ to be provided by Town and Community Councils on web sites. Details can be found here.
